Am I right in thinking that the roads are at their worst, after lond periods of sun, followed by a brief shower? It's just p!ssed down here, and I was gonna give it the beans on the way home!!

Cheers.

Yup, as it tends to raise all the crap out of the road itself and up to the surface, i.e. diesel, etc. Take it easy on the way home, even if the roads are dry, as they may have some residual cr@p left on them....

Or you could mail this guy:

Peter.Boast1@btinternet.com

and he'll teach you how to slide your way around corners.

Think he was orginally a speedway guy, but now has his own powerslide training school. You know, like you see them doing on tv, sliding into corners.

I think, although don't quote me on it, that he is also a test rider for 'Performance Bike' magazine.

Sounds like fun. Must admit, it looks absolute quality to see Rossi and the boys power sliding around bends.....

Today, in London we're going be weather ground zero.
Yes, it's great to see Vale slide on the track, but when the friction bites, you end up in mortal danger.
Remember, leave your blood at the bloodbank, not on the highway.

Dont get any ideas, lets just spend the rest of the year in the saddle not slidding down the road on your @rse yet again.

do you have any idea how much it costs?, and do you have to bring your own bike or is 1 provided?, forget wheelies controled sliding is about a million times cooler.

Honestly don't know much more than what I have said. Just saw him at a trackday at Cadwell in his marked up van. Have subsequently spoken to someone about him who said he was a very very talented rider & that the service he provides is also very good.

Drop him a mail & see what he says.

p.s I may be interested in doing the course, but will have to wait until I return off honeymoon, i.e August at earliest.

So what's this school all about then? Do they have those slide machines that make it impossible to highside yet you can lose the back end at low speed or something?

edited to add: just found this little lot.

www.norfolkarena.co.uk/power.htm

"Full day courses are run on speedway tracks, designed to improve your riding skills and help you experience rear wheel steering.

The day starts with a video briefing about power sliding, and initial track sessions take place on Honda XR100s and 125cc Speedway bikes. Later sessions will be on 500cc Jawa Speedway bikes and 600cc Flat Track machines."

So, nothing on tarmac then. I reckon it would still be a proper laugh though.

I've been to watch the banger racing at Norfolk Arenea - sounds like this could be fun... Could be up for this!
