Used bike Buyers Guides

Folks I'm considering buying a second bike. It'll be secondhand purchase, so I'm more than a little wary of screwing up and either paying over the odds or worse buying a lemon. Does anyone know of a decent buyers guide, so I can make sure I don't miss anything.

have a look at Used Bike Guide (UBG) magazine and web site - they have a listing of all bikes and a brief description of any inherent weaknesses with a rough price guide as well
also list bikes for sale in classified section.
seems to be a buyers market at the moment, as others have commented on Pistonheads of a slow response to ads placed - myself included

autotrader online also has a bikes section but can't rememeber if they have reviews too. MCN online has a number of bike reviews both from staff and from readers.
