1 week old CBR 600RR,

Getting off it at work, caught my trouser leg on the footpeg and lost my balance, managed to get most of me between it and the floor! Ended up with a scuffed mirror, generator cover and very small scratch on fairing.

Mirror and generator cover about £90 from Honda dealer. Anyone know a man with van and spray kit that can sort the fairing.

Boy am I bloody annoyed with myself today!

Same thing happened to me after about a week of ownership - scuffed engine casing, broken mirror, clutch leaver... nearly £300...!

Good luck sorting it...

I know I'd do the same, but isn't that a really bad idea? How my does it weigh?
Good luck fixing it up, anyway.

Yeah,

I'm royally cheesed off. It was such a dumb thing to do!

I'm glad I slacked off the clutch and brake levers a little - probably saved me from a broken clutch lever. An old motocrossers trick.

Anyway, Chips Away just quoted £50+VAT to sort the fairing. He reckoned he could repair and re-texture the mirror, and probably touch up the generator cover as well. So it might end up being a little cheaper to put right than I first thought...

Ouch, i'm planning getting roll bars fitted to mine!!

Had my cbr600fs for a month when boss knocked it over whilst parked at about 3mph with her Range Rover.

It damaged every panel including the tank. Its currently having new everything fitted courtesy of her insurance. Not so bad i guess!!

Had my gixxer6 K3 about 15mins after leaving the dealer before it fell fwd off its sidestand while filling it up with fuel for the first time. Learned very quickly about gixxer stands not liking any sort of slight incline down where the front wheel is lower than the rear.
Luckily I was standing to the side of the bike and there was a car parked just in front of it (opps) so that stopped it going fully over.. just ended up with my headlight attacking the blokes bumper. The scratching was so light on the car he just said hey don't worry about it! I never did get the scratch marks out of the bikes headlight before it was stolen.

Now wouldn't it be good if there was some automated system to fire a stand down hydraulically, if the engine is off, and the bike starts to topple. I'm thinking something like the hydraulic jacks you see on touring cars when pitting.

Bit of a pipe dream, and an overactive imagination!
