My track day at Snetterton yesterday...
Discussion
Morning all,
Thought I'd post a bit about my day at Snetterton yesterday - first time back on a bike after the crash
I hired a bike (R6 Cup) which was also a good experience as it was nice to compare a modern 600 to my GSXR 1000.
On the first session, I was really shocked at my ability in the corners - all my confidence was totally shot after the crash... Really strange thing happened though, the 2nd session was 100% improvement - I was lapping quicker than ever! So, all in all, a good day in the end and well worth it as my confidence has returned. I also managed to get my knee down - see pics.
The R6 was way different to the GSXR - you really have the thrash it to make the most of the power. I was caught out several times coming out of corners in a low gear only to find I wasn't in the power band. I also experienced brake judder and the snaking which was prevalent when changing down from high revs - never experienced any of this with the GSXR - strange! Great bike in the corners though, really easy to flick on it's side and, as I always say, I love the way it looks.

I'd guess that it's set up way different to your GSXR thou, so it would feel looser/turn faster and make better use of grip. Glad to hear you had a good time.
Hobo gave me a shot in his new R6 at Cadwell and I was amazed at how much sharper it felt than my GSXR 750. Pity it was damp when I was on it though!
