Has anyone here been to the circuit before? I wondered if anyone could recommend an area to sit in for a good view of the action, especially as it's possible the season may be a photo finish!

Just about anywhere. The circuit is in a bowl, so from wherever you are, you can see most of the circuit. I went for the WSB last year, and we were at the end of the main straight. The only bit you couldn't see from there was a bit where it switches back on the south end of the circuit, although you could just see the crash helmets above the armco.

A great place to watch, although there's not a huge number of overtaking places. Would love to go for the Valencia GP. Are there still tickets available?

Seem cheaper here (now having found some):

www.circuitvalencia.com

Am thinking of going myself. Flights from Stanstead of £180 per person (return), accomodation seems to be around 100 euro per night (double room - nice gaff). Can sell it to the wife as a weekend break somewhere nice & then just mention that its MotoGP weekend, how fortunate.

Am actually quite tempted for two reasons:
1)Its the last of the big bike races before they drop down to 800cc, so maybe they'll leave the old stuff out back for the binmen to pick up
2)Its meant to be partay city as its the end of season

plus its Valencia. which is nice...

PS Ferry trips are around the £400 mark, with bike crossings..

As much as I'd love to ride down (or drive for that matter), the ferry crossings are just too far & take way too long. Airplane for me.

Suppose you could go early & ride from Calais, stopping off at a few places on the way down. Portsmouth/Bolboa though just looks a pain in the arse ferry wise.

I did this ferry trip in June. I thought it was "ok", even though I hate boats!
Would be much more fun on the bike though......

We did the ferry to Le Harve, then rode down, stopping off for the Le Mans 24 hr bike race. Some of the roads over the Pyrenee's (sp) were superb. Would consider riding again, but maybe going to Bilbao, but it's a bit of a trek to Plymouth from Liverpool. Think flying would be the better option for me.

I will be there, I'll be staying with friends (who live in Valencia) - but keen to meet up with anyone on here who makes the trek south.

BTW It's much more fun if you take your bike, you can do the run from the ferry to Valencia in a day.

Which Ferry? We did Biaritz-> Valencia in a day, but I wouldn't want to run down from the north of France in a day.

How much does the Bilbao ferry cost on a bike?
