What is it in the psychological make-up of Mercedes Sprinter drivers, that makes them drive like a lunatic as soon as a biker appears in the mirrors. One in particular this morning was extremely determined to keep me behind him at all costs.
Doesn't bother me like, in fact they do me a favour - a nice easy draft saving a bit of fuel!!!

I had one white van make progress from facing me while parked on the opposite side of the road to attempting to be travelling in the same direction as myself, precisely on the piece of tarmac that I was expecting to be inhabiting in the next half second or so. Result - dropped the bike in avoidance, but he stopped and immediately asked if I was doing about 60. Made a succesful claim against the building contractors he was working for.
I had another white van make progress from a lane on my left into a right turn, while I was alongside him. Result - slight contact and dropped bike. He buggered off - still probably didn't know I was there. A lady stopped to ask if I was alright, and that she had seen everything. Apart from the name on the van and its registration number.
I don't like white vans now - although thats probably racist.

Mmm, well, this chap was making progress at about 50mph, until I'm making my presence known off his starboard quarter. At which point he upps the ante to around 75...in a rural 50 limit...
And no, I didn't stick with him to make a point. I value my licence!

I drive a White Van, a little Corsa thing so not sure it really counts. Have to say that much of the traffic is same or slower than me generally, but I'd never try to outrun anything. Bikes ? Get out of their way every time - hope others will do the same for me when I'm on 2 wheels. I reckon you get c**ks in all types of vehicle - you just happened to meet one in a van.

As for corsa's ....welll They are roadkill of the white vans arent they .......

Can't arhue with that, would definately come off worst in a smack with a "proper" van. Surprised me how quick it is for a 1.3TD though - seen a few sprinters off - but I wouldn't call it a tarmac wrinkler

. Gets me why cars do 80ish on dual carrageways & follow each other at 50 or less on A roads? My training taught me to pass the hazard.
