Glove advice?

My gloves are falling apart, so where to invest. I've looked on ebay and for £30 I can get some waterproof, kevlar everywhere, leather, adjustable, double stiched, dinner making gloves.
Now I realise you generally get what you pay for, but would anyone be tempted by these things, or is the answer to spend £100 and get "better" protection?

I spent £100+ on my Alpinestars GP1's and it was the best money I ever spent, definately try gloves for fitting before you buy. I've had 2 offs and done 4yrs of riding with the GP1's and they are still in fantastic shape.

I have two pairs of Texports - Defender Pro's for cold/wet weather and TX1's for warmer weather. They're about £100 a pair for either of them and well worth it as far as I'm concerned. Like lids, gloves are not something to skimp on. If you do get off, likely as not you'll reach out with your hands as a reflex action to protect yourself.

I spent about £60 on a pair (cant remember the name) and they are SH!TE. I really like the Hein Gericke Racing gloves around the £100 mark and you cant go wrong with the Alpinestar gloves. If you are going to get them from eBay i would be careful because the ones i have tried come up very small.

What price do you put on your hands? For me it's easy, no hands - no work - no money - no motorbike)
I buy on fit rather than brand name and go for the best quality I can afford.
I also have a couple of pairs of thick winter gloves chosen mainly for the ability to still feel the controls (some gloves are like trying to ride in boxing gloves)

I remember when I tried the GP1's at the shop they were tight as hell and movement was restricted but I took their word that they would 'bed in' in a couple of weeks and they were right, its like having a second skin now.

Bought £30 gloves off ebay last week - simply superb value for the money - well made (swiss), lots of vents, leather, kevlar & carbon fibre bits. Can recommend these - better than my last ones that cost 3x the price.

I have them GP-Tech gloves. Seem very good & give more wrist protection than a lot of others.

I would recommend you try them on in a shop first though as had to buy small in the end as I too was told to get then really tight to start with & they will stretch to suit. Which they have. Most other makes I was a medium.

If you read the magazines they seem to rate quite highly, although there is another make which seem to be very good (although the name completely slips my mind).

Held Galaxy. bomb proof! £130 though. Die-easy (dainese) tend to tear the leather when they hit the deck. Alpinestars feel flimsy to me. Get some decent kangaroo leather gloves in my opinion.

Gloves come off very easily in accidents (and so do shoes). Make sure you get ones with long gauntlets.

Check out Joe Rocket speedmasters. Mine are comfy as hell but feel to be made as tough as old boots. They were about £100 IIRC. they have changed them lately(looks are going to be marmite but that does not matter too much) but take a look at the palm protection the pitards leather gives you.
