Ebay bargain, damn hard to ride compared to the R6, you have to be 110% commited all the time but when you are the rewards are massive. Always wanted one since seeing Rossi start out in the Italian championship and onto 125's and 250's with Aprilia and I hope to make it into something looking like his 1998 RSW250 over the coming winter. Can't wait to hit the track on it.

Looks quality mate. My mate has a 1000cc RSV factory thingy, and he's also the absolute guv'nor on it....However, imagine his surprise as he was passed on the corners by a 125cc!! Lots of fun by all accounts.

Pit bike is also mine, with an engine built and tuned by Spec-Engineering who also help develop MotoGP engines. It flips over in 4th with the slightest application of throttle hehe

The mirrors on the RS250 were used as wingmirrors on the Lotus 340R.

That's my dull fact of the day.

Lovely lick
All but shook hands on a deal to buy a new one of these in '96. Last one the dealer in Bristol had in the Purple and Orange colours they used to do, which I loved the look of. He just had to confirm with head office (it was last of the "old" stock so we had negotiated a favourable price). Called later to say he'd been told the bike isn't for sale as it had been earmarked for a race team rage I ended up buying an NC30 which was a great little bike, but always wondered what an RS250 would be like to ride.

Cracking piece of kit, I had one briefly till it got nicked, used to be able to run rings round anything on local roads on mine, it was just so light and razor sharp, you can't beat a 2 stroke when it comes on pipe.

There's loads of them over here (Spain), regularly meet up with a couple of local lads on thiers for a blast, ace bikes.

No good for 100mph wheelies though, even though I was a muppet on mine!
