Buell bikes

Thoughts? looked at a few today. was looking at a 900cc lightning. looks amazing but not sure if i could get insured on one for the similer price as a 600-700cc bandit, hornet etc...

what do others think of them, any good?

The Harley Davidson shop in Newcastle have a brand new XB12R 2004 model for £5695. Looked cheap to me !

Get a test ride. I had a go and have to agree that the engine is pretty gutless. A 1200 with some mods might do it.

I rode the Lighting XB12s & the 900 version about 6 weeks ago, great looking bikes & handled very sweetly. But too slow for my liking, I'd expect a bike of this capacity to have a savage element to it, I was expecting power wheelies the lot - had to clutch the front wheel into the air. I hit the rev limiter more times than I'd like too, 7000-ish limit. The demo bike had the race kit on it with remus can etc, great noise but too soft.

Definately worth a look if you want to stand out, they just lack the "fight" in streetfighter. Tuning is big bucks.

been looking around and I just think to start with the costs invlolved compared with other bike is just too much
