Right. Once not if I pass my DAS in a few weeks I have been thinking. We are a 3 car family. My wifes FRV, my Forester and my Tiger Kit car. I use the Forester as my daily drive and don't need to travel far in it as i have access to 2 other cars in work.

Do I get ride of my Forester and get a bike? as i don't really see the need to 3 cars and a bike and the expense.

If so is their any way I can transfer my 10 years NCB to the bike. I don't fancy losing all the NCB?

suggestions peps

Some like H&R take car no claims into account, but a lot of insurers don't. It's a different skill and you will be inexperienced, so it's not unexpected nor unreasonable that you have to build up a separate NCB on the bike.

As the previous says, normally insurance companies don't take into account NCD on a car for the bike but insurance is pretty competitive so you might be able to get introductory discounts. Time on the phone or net going through companies can be worthwhile.

One thing that does annoy me is that they don't give you any credit of NCD on cars against bike and vice versa but they do however take it into account if you have had a claim or a conviction. Talk about having your cake an eating it

Great fun!!!!

I actually prefer the winter to the summer, there are far less bikes about but you just need to make sure you have the right kit etc.

But, you need the right bike for your requirements. I'm not really a sports jockey and prefer big upright type of bikes, not too sure how a R1 etc would fair in winter, probably fine!!!
