Large parcel arrived yesterday, much excitement, containing new exhaust link pipes for my new bike (Ducati Multistrada) these are in fact the all the pipework from cylinders to the cans, benefits are that you free up the gas flow (cat goes) and the sound improves.

Leave work on time, get home set to work, instructions are in Italian but all looked quite straight forward though!!!!!!

Never assume censored anything, suffice to say I have just walked away before I give the sodding thing a good shoeing smash.

Every time I attempt to do anything mate!! Still, the weekend is coming, so attack with a cool head, and plenty of time!

Yep - once you start losing it it's definitely time to walk away before you do something you will regret!!

All the best for it all working out over the weekend

In what way is it complicated? If you're struggling with space, just whip all the fairings off - being able to see, and access, everything easily makes all the difference.

No fairings on a Multistrada, therefore should be easy. The main problem is alignment and fitting parts together with very fine tolerences, 3 sepaerate pipes to mate together at the same time. scratchchin headache

Having slept on it I believe I have found new angle of attack, however if you hear a large explosion from SW19 on Saturday you will know I've failed.

One trick you can try is to use some soapy water around the joints. Once together and tigthened up ensure you run the engine up to heat the pipes to evaporate the liquid and salt!!

You have my sympathy - I had to use grease, a wooden mallet and lots of swearing to persuade a set of Micron stainless downpipes onto my old FZR600. I was convinced they were faulty when I first couldn't get them together, but apparently 'they all do that sir !'

If by tapping gently with a small hammer does not work, find a bigger hammer and strike firmer. Continue this evolution untill desired effect is produced. Don't you just love Italian (and Brit) bikes.

Good news, have finally attached the bloody thing, threatened it several times with the hammer was totally ignored so beat the sh*t out of it.

Not quite so violent but the soft hammer came into its own.

Very pleased with results though, lovely sound particularly on overrun.

Will start saving for the Terminogi's now.yikes the cost.

Thanks for support
