Decided to put the R6 up for sale. Who knows whether I'll get what I want for it or not, but it just seems pointless having it in the shed for the next 6 months knowing that I won't be using it.

Seems more sense to get what I can for it & then look again at another (probably a 750 or thou) around April/May next year. Will probably buy a track bike as don't see where the time is going to come from to use a bike on the road.

I'm wanting just over 5k for it which seems a decent price to ask.

We'll see if I get any interest. Suspect its not the ideal time of year to be selling, although its a bargain for someone.

Just seems pointless having it seizing up for the next 6 months due to lack of use.

I had to jump start it yesterday as I haven't used it for that long & the alarm system had drained the battery.

Indeed it is. Just need to get some better pictures off it.

There's another the same up for sale with 2 bids of just over £5k. This is half the reason I put it up as I thought only 1 person could win it & therefore the other may be interested in mine.

We shall see. Not really bothered either way in all honesty.

You've only used it about a dozen times haven't you laugh

I could have sworn you'd been saying up untill recently that you were nowhere near getting near the 600s limits...why the shift to a thou?

In all honesty I have no idea what I would get to replace it. I just don't see the point of it being stood doing nothing until March/April next year (maybe even later as kid is due April).

Just seems to make more sense to get rid.

Have to agree, No point letting it sit, never does them any good.

It doesn't do Jap bikes any harm so long as you put them away clean and keep the battery topped up.

I've never bothered emptying tanks etc. The most I've done is a liberal spraying/wiping of WD40 onto the metalwork. A bit on the forks to lubricate the fork rings etc.

Come spring, they start good as gold.

Hobo,

I may be interested in selling my race R1. PM me for details. It's got a few 'extras' fitted, ohlins, exhaust, master cylinder, rearsets, etc, etc, etc. Spare bodywork!!

Cheers

The trouble with this is, if you sell just because of bad weather, you'll never keep a bike more than 6 months in the UK. Wouldn't it be cheaper to hire one for the few times it gets used?

What's the enjoyment in that. Part of the fun is to play with it, sleep with it (did I say that out loud ) I'm not keen on hire bikes as you'll never really know what condition they're in until it's too late.

What did you pay for it? Seems silly to make a loss that you seemed to be faced with solely because you don't want to put her to bed for a wee bit. Use the winter to tinker and customise (this does not mean chrome wheels!).

Auction still has another 7 days left.

Have been offered £5k by a couple of people if I'll sell now, however, I decided to decline as I'm intruiged to see what it will reach.

Currently have 20 people watching it.
