I'm for Rossi, 1st across the line. Don't care where everyone else ends up!
I can't explain why, it's just an emotional choice.

Who do you want to win and why?

Bayliss to win the race, Rossi to win the Championship, after being 51 points behind Hayden following Laguna Seca to come back over the next 5 races to take an 8 point lead (wins or podiums in every race) shows class and determination.

Would love to see Bayliss win and I think, just this once, Vale will do just enough to win the championship, he has nothing to gain by pushing for the race win.

Not convinced if Nicky will have the personal resources to take the win, though he did look good in qualifying.

Damn. I'm a fan of Rossi so that wasn't a good race then !
Well done to Hayden though, kept his head after Rossi made his mistake. Rossi will be back though, so roll on next year.
Bayliss should be on the Ducati next year. He rode a good race today.

Didn't see that one coming! weeping
Top result for Bayliss and Ducati (what a year they have had)

Looks like we are in for some great racing next year.

(.....and a grudging well done to the yank - very cool, very tidy.)

Great win for Troy, disappointment for Rossi. I mentioned above how Rossi had come back from a 51 point disadvantage but you also have to remember that Hayden was effectively on a development chassis throughout 2006. I don't the exact differences, I think I heard mention that it's what the 2007 800cc chassis is going to be based on, but that it's not the same bike as Pedrosa, Melandri, Tamada, Elias had. He was so far off the pace in pre-season practice I'm sure he thought he'd have no chance to even win a race let alone the championship.

all the hype over the last couple of weeks building this race up (as if it needed any) I couldn't wait and then Rossi went down. Cant wait to read an interview with him this week to see what he says. IMO he didnt look happy/his self right from the start...oh well It really has not been his year this year Jinxed or what? What with him being knocked down in the first race, the tyre problem then the mechanical problems and even the bloody rain in Australia when he was starting to get moving.

In reality he lost the championship by 2/1000's of a sec. If he won 2 weeks ago and got those 5 points it would have been a draw and he would have won by default. Oh well looking to next year. Nothing against Haydon just that we all know who would have won if they had a bit of luck but thats racing

Rossi was slow in race warmup, maybe a slight problem with the bike, clutch maybe. Or just not the right setup for the race. Was it hotter than Saturday? Either way he lost the front at a place where lots of other people have come a cropper in the past few years. Didn't Regis Laconi crash at the same corner in both WSBK races at the start of the 2004 season?

I think not sir, what if Pedrosa hadn't taken NH out two weeks ago ? or if Rossi hadn't stuffed it today ?
The championship is comprised of 17 races, "if's" don't come into it.

That may sound harsh, and I admit I'm no great fan of people winning championships by consistency.
But this year Valentinos bike and tyres let him down on several occasions, (and he himself let the side down today) His poor start (with the front wheel at least 6 inches of the ground) did him no favours. All IMO

As I said, that's racing

Point I was making was how close it was in the end.
