Ok boys and girls.....

.... I have today bought my first bike. A Honda FMX650 ... lots of torque, 80mph top useable speed. should be great to hone my riding skills...

So.... what good first timer insurance company??

Why don't you try Honda Insurance, 08700 780101. They were the bst for my R1.

They are good

or..... www.ebikeinsurance.co.uk (were good with 0ncb but renewal was cr@p)

or... www.msminsurance.co.uk

All my best online renewal quotes were around £750

A few phoned me back to try and get the business but msm asked me what price they would have to beat so I said beat £500. They did. I was surprised so I said ok.

I used www.thebikeinsurer.co.uk coz I was in a hurry (I had literally 5mins to sort out my insurance!) and it came back with Devitts. So, umm, I signed with them.

No idea if they or the website are any good, but both worth a look anyway. Thebikeinsurer was handy for figuring out roughly what bikes I should and shouldn't be looking at, not that that will bother you now.

Gratz on your new steed btw, bet you can't wait. Was it the ex-dem one?

Honda Insurance with Royal and Sun Alliance coming up with £126 TPF&T with a £250XS. I'm 43. Seems not too bad for first insurance!!!!

Ebikeinsurance came in at £163

Mutter mutter mutter. I'm with Honda for the CBR, and will ring them Monday, but am having enormous fun trying to find a realistic quote for the SP2. I've had three quotes of over 8K, and the rest are all over a grand. I'm in a middlingly good area of SE London, 1 yr NCB, 1yr license, no points, 36 etc etc.

Is it me, or does the SP2 come with some form of pro-theft device, or the ability to warp space-time? Might have to rethink things if this carries on.
nobody, and I mean NOBODY is to mention DucatiGary's Ducati

Insurance 2000 were the best for my first bike, by a long shot

I then went with Honda after 3 years, much cheaper. I found out why when i had to make a claim cry
