My poor Ducati is now going to be an unwanted ugly duckling
Have you seen the front cover of MCN? The new breed of dukes look awesome - back to the old 916 styling: single swing arm, twin underseat pipes, side by side headlights with vents underneath. They look fantastic and now no-one will ever buy my fat headed freak of a bike.
I'll simply have to take the hit on it (not that I'm particularly thinking of changing, at least untill I saw MCN) and trade up

What's all this nonsence about giving up?! Bored with the bike, not enough time, pressure from the other half??!!

Oh well each to their own, I wouldn't ride a thunderace and, for the record, it wouldn't stand a chance up against a 999.

I`m yet to be convinced....I`ll need to see the race bikes to see how they look ...the original 916/996/998 range is for me the ultimate Ducati...Even Foggy said Ducati just didn`t realise how magnificant the original Ducati was for it`s time until it was gone....I`ve only just started to like 999`s...the new one will take a while yet to grow on me...
The guy that sits next to me at work flogged his 999 back in the summer. He struggled to get £8k for it privately, and that was for a 6 month old bike with only 1k miles.
No dealer was interested in taking it as they all said,
"we can't sell the ones we've got, if only we had more 996/998's in stock"
Two wheeled Fiat's indeed....pah....philistine....
I'd still take an ugly 999 over any piece of Nip nastiness....
