How nice is this........
Discussion
There's a brand new, MV Agusta parked outside my building. Dunno what model it is (F4-1000 S maybe). This thing has 4 pipes coming out under the seat, and it's prob the nicest bike I've ever seen, with the exception of the Senna(looked on their website...I want one).
Anyone know anything about them? Are they any good? They look expensive.
Cheers.

I've had a F4 750 since 2000 and it's still fantastic. And I disagree about the noise - ride one and listen to the wonderful sound it makes as you approach 13K revs. I'd like a 1000 (don't need one as the 750 is fast enough for me) but I'm never going to sell the 750.
You'll see a few of them racing next year (BSB, AMA). Take a test ride and then go and see the bank manager.

Not many - I don't seem to take pictures of my toys. It's dead standard though so you'll find lots of similar pictures on the web. Not me in the pictures - friends from Italy - taken about three years ago. The bike's six years old now and still looks new - all parts are so well made and made with the best materials so I guess that's where the money goes.
Cheers
Alex
I had the pleasure of sharing a Cadwell track day when PB did an article comparing the New GSXR750 to the New MVF4 (which had lots of Casoli performance parts fitted, including a gorgeous blue tinged titanium underseat tail).
It was utterly brilliant fun, though the GSXR did run rings round the MV (and me). Boy did that thing make a fantastic howl and the detail is just incredible, they're a work of art and prices are getting very reasonable now.

Really? The new 1000R? I'm surprised - even though I'm tempted to buy the new GSXR750 too. I know it's much better than my 750 but the 1000R has had some great reviews and the earlier machines have been doing very well in super stock races last year (see www.mvagusta.net/index.php for details). Is Cadwell particularly suited to smaller, nimble bikes? Would a GSXR750 be faster than a GSXR1000 there? Has the article been published? One of the things I miss in Barcelona is the lack of UK bike magazines.

It was when the original 750 MV came out, sorry, should have been clearer.
I'd say a well ridden 750 and 1000 round Cadwell would be incredibly close actually, in fact if you know anyone who'd donate both, I'd be more than willing to find out
I've never seen a MV 1000 apart from in World Endurance on TV and didn't see it anywhere near the GSXR's or R1's.
I've had my 2001 year 750 F4S from new and it is utterly fantastic! The sound when it's wound up is incredible and the handling really is superb; it is so planted and I do feel that I am riding a precision instrument when I'm 'on it' - it's totally focussed and simply wonderful to ride. The fact that it looks so utterly gorgeous is the icing on the cake. Actually, no, the icing on the cake will be riding it next week after down-gearing it, having an 800cc kit fitted with race headers and PC - can't wait!!

Chilli - Is this the same F4 that was squeezed in-between 2 scooters in a bike bay behind Cannon St?
Lovely bike, but is the owner mad?

That's the one! Gorgeous bike eh? What the hell is the guy thinkng. Praps a few weeks of scooter damage and it'll be tucked back up in the garage!
Excellent, another local biker...Do you park there as well??

I used to park there, but I come in on the bike less and less due to meetings and p*ss-ups. It doesn't stop me from drooling as I walk past the bays though.

If you're that stuck, I could always give you a load. I live in Sant Gervasi and fly back to the UK at least once a month, and I always make sure I pick up most of the mags to keep me going.

Perfect! Give me a shout sometime (661 769 224) and I'll meet up with you and either help out with the cost, buy you beer, etc. I'm in Exiample (Pau Claris) near Pl. Catalunya. Cheers Alex
