hello everyone

am back after not really bein on for about a year

just thought i'd say hi to all again

unfortunately had to sell my bike last month to pay for a few things (including bike test, which i am taking at the beginning of next year)

if anyone has any suggestions on a first big bike would be helpful as have asked around but still not decided. i' thinking a gsx-r 600, r6, any 400 (gotta be under 1000cc and i have to restrict it to 33 bhp)

cheers for any suggestions in advance

CBR600 would get my vote, nice and easy to ride and probably one of the top rated 600's

I'd say the smaller the better tbh as you are restricting it down to 33hp anyway you might as well get something that will still feel nice when you restrict it down. GPZ500 would suit you, can get them nice and cheaply too. Or usual stuff like GS500/CB500/ER-5. Or an XV535 if you like the style, they're pleasant enough.

The other way to look at it is the bigger you get, the bigger the bills....

Hi and Welcome back..

All depends what bikes float your boat.. Sports, Customs, Cruisers etc..

If its a sports bike, try a CBR600 or maybe a Yamaha Thundercat as they are very forgiving. Also the ZX-6r (late 90's - early 2000's) is a very comfortable 600..

The ZXR 400 is a popular bike and is very light and mangeable with a reasonable seat height. It also looks very cool.

I'd give a few of them a try and see which fits best...

I'm no expert on cruisers etc unfortunately.

Hope that helps,

Nick

Honda Bros, perhaps, then flog on when you can go unrestricted, or , playing a longer game, go for an NC30. I understand they go quite nicely even restricted, then you have a loony missile for when the restrictions come out..

cheers guys

i like my sports bikes, but i think i need to wait a while before getting one. my mate comes out of his restriction this year and has sed i've got first refusal on his honda bros 400.

my dads got a yamaha 900 xj diversion, which i find comfortable (i've only sat on it and been a pillion, i am not allowed to ride it) and know that they make a 400 version.

i don't know, this is where i get confused. had the same trouble when picking my 125 and had a lot smaller pool of choice then

Depends how long you want to keep it..
The Honda Bros 400 im sure would get you going for a while.
All depends on money.

The suzuki GS500 is an easy bike to live with as is the Kawasaki er6..
Saying that i know of a few girls who like the Suzuki 600 Bandit.. That would be a good allrounder.. and reasonably perky once derestricted.

Or back on the 400 front there is the Yamaha xjr 400 which looks quite cool...

Go and sit on a few and possibly test ride em.. That will make your mind up.

cheers,

had the suzuki gs 125 as my first bike, liked it but always pined for an rs 125. my mate let me rde his and i lilked the seatin position so that made my mind up on sports bikes, i was thinkin an r6, then swop for a gsx-r 750 when out of restricion bit i dunno. i love too many different bikes lol
