Just wanted to vent, as I've not had the best of day on my 2 month old GSXR600 K6. Took her out the garage and lot my footing, over she went over. F@@###@~@~##'#. Anyway got her back up, the damage looks minimal, but as with all new bikes is actually going to cost a few quid.
Top fairing bit £67, less than I thought
Engine cover £140, much more than I thought
cover for the lovely exhaust best part of 70 quid. so a little drop could cost me the thick end of £300 quid. Yes I know I should have fitted Crash bungs, but you have to cut the fairing to fit one side.

Don't worry to much, I'm sure it will pick up.

well only with the help of my bandit riding neighbour!!!!!

I know there is an 'easy' way to pick a bike up, but I'm hoping not to practice again!!

On the bright side, its done now, so you dont have to fix it till you flog it. Dropped mine and broke the brake lever, as well as scuffing a few bits. A few weeks later, and it doesnt even register. Replaced the brake lever, obviously..

Personally I had an excellent hoon out, round the M25 for a bit, then lots of filtering practise.

Pushing /pulling bikes around is an art....if it goes the wrong way, over you go...
I`d rather take a `stationary topple` damage sheet than a proper slide down the road bill though...

True, but it look so nice (well until today). Mind you I did go for a great ride afterwards. Down towards Boxhill, got lost for a while but found a couple of great roads, so not all bad

The best thing about new bikes is the fact they are so nice & shiny....
However in the course of the year with a few hard rides under your belt, little scuffs & scrapes accumulate....battle scars..the damage has a degree of honour...no worries..
Pushing even faster on the track does introduce you to the realm of having to put up with minor damage in the pursuit of speed/adrenalin from time to time...it puts some people off but you can learn to rise above beating yourself up for damaging the bike.......it ususally just pissed me off and made me want to go even faster ...

Just a few minor battle scars adds character.

Been there,

dropped my two day old RR outside the office. Well, more sort of wrestled it to the floor actually!

Cost a bit as you say!!

Didn't have to cut fairings on my K4 750 either. So very good chance on the K6 600.

R&G bungs very good. Reckon most people have dropped bikes over on their sides at some point. I have a few times & crash bungs have saved me quite a bit over the years.

Sadly you need to cut the fairing on the left with R&G. Saw Power bronze ones at the NEC where they came with a little extension bar so getting round the offending bit of plastic. I phone the good people of PB who said they didn't make them, but I saw them at the NEC, "No sir we don't make them" but but but..... Am I seeing things or was the chap on the phone ill informed on their products, or worse still a liar liar pants on fire.....

The last time I dropped a bike it wrestled me to the floor. In fact, the bastard thing threw me over the top of it Judo style when it hit the deck hehe

All this reminds me, must get around to fitting some crash bungs scratchchin
