I was told it had 1 previous owner. my brother was also there and heard it from the sales person.

But on the log book it says 3 FFS

talked to the manager of the shop I bought it and they checked there HPi records and it says 2.
The manager was very nice and said I could taek the bike back and get hopfully most of my money back. But I got 3 problems with that
1) it will cost me probably £40 to change my insurance again.
2) I sort of droped it friday(I know what a ) only bent the front brake lever which I have replaced like new. it scrached the side fairing but only just a bit. less then a 1/4" and scuffed the bottom of the engine again nothing major. only lightly
3) I got a fresh set of BT-014's fitted last Friday, and chrash bungs ordered that I have payed for, just waiting for delivery.

They did say they could do some form of good will gesture if i was told incorrectly about the amount of previous owners if I did not want to get ride of the bike.

Thing is I got used to my first bike, its very clean and only got 4300 miles on the clock.

what to do. I bloody could do with out this

I assume you've checked 2 of the owners aren't garages? I can imagine the first owner being the first garage, 2nd the actual owner, 3rd the garage you bought it off.

Does it matter? As long as the previous owners weren't The Royal Signals and Achmed's Bike Couriers, plus that sort of mileage is bu99er-all... you bought a bike, not a slice of history.
Worst case scenario, ask for a gesture from the dealers (spare gloves, set of service consumables...)

Yeah, I wouldn't worry. Thats a bit off of the dealer, so go in ranting and take them for a few quid, and free sevicing for a couple of years.

It perplexes me how anyone can spend thousands of their hard earned on a vehicle and then not use it! It took a few thousand miles on my 7R before I could ride it anywhere near it's limits, so how a bike can have 3 owners yet only 4300 miles on the clock is lunacy! My TLR has 3/4 owners but then it has 17k miles on the clock!

I'm happy with the low miles. gives me plenty of chance to add the miles on

Misrepresentation under the sale of goods act? Maybe a rebate of some sort on top of the goodwill already received from them (maybe as an admission of guilt?)

Worth a try

If the DVLC record shows '2 previous owners' that means 2 previous to the currently registered owner, so when you buy it and it is re-registered in your name you will become the 4th.

When you say last one, I assume you mean the original or first owner owner..?

If so, then it could have been the suppling dealer that pre-regd it, thus the first 'true' owner that bought the bike at delivery/zero miles was in fact the second registered owner.

Hence your 3 owners.

Are you happy with the bike? Do you want to give it back to the dealer?

I would just chalk it up to oner of those things I won't do again and would request to see the log book next time I bouight a bike. See you he will offer you and live with that and chalk it up to experience.
