First "Faaaaaarrrrking Hell!" Moment/Nearly Doing A Chilli
Discussion
You remember Rossi at the Donnington 2005 GP in the rain, where he lifted right off the bike in a wobble and only just held it together? Well that was me, Christmas eve eve on the Multistrada in Maidstone.
T'was a combination of cold (but festive) tires, damp road, drain cover and more beans than should have been given. The bike squirmed beneath me like a bronco before launching me about 2 feet off my seat, nearly highsiding and god-knows-what-else! Somehow managed to hold it together, and all I could think about was how that must have looked insane to the guy in the car behind!!
Ah well, ya lives and learns......

I hate to ask but what is "Doing a chilli" ?
did you spank your R6 Chilli??
Having chopped chili peppers and then gone for a quick pee - the idea of "doing a chilli" brings tears to my eyes!

Glad you made it! Don't do that again.
Closest I came was losing it a little bit over the painted lane markers while doing about 100mph in the pouring rain. I have no idea how I didn't end up sliding on the road--somehow I stayed upright and kept the bike underneath. I was slotting over into the new lane just in front of a car and, when I looked in the mirror, the car had backed right off and was hundreds of yards behind. They must have thought I was a complete nutter. I was.
God I miss bikes. Makes up mind to go see about getting another one this year.

I've had a couple of slides over manhole covers - luckily all at low speed. The amazing thing is that if you manage not to react too violently the wheels grip instantly the moment they hit tarmac again and suddenly you are all OK!
Makes the heart race a bit though

That's soo true. The amount of times I tried to react to little slides etc...Now I just completely ignore them and they seem to sort themselves out!!
You can see it coming now, can't you??!!
