yup me, FFS. on the way back from work.

Main thing is apart from being a bit shaken up, the bike is almost fine and so am I

about 20 yards away from a guy in a vectra. He decides to pull onto a side road without indicating then indecats back out onto the main road to do a U-Turn 10 yards in front of me. all this by the HSBC in Hanham. Well i grabed the front and rear brake and slid about 10 feet then landed on my left anchel. did not hit the car

Well not fecking impressed but at least the only damage is the left hand R&G ( I love that little thing, Saved the bike) is now worn down a bit and a few scraches in the rear swingarm. So getting it taken to a bike shop to see how much the TWAT int he vectra needs to pay to get it fixed.

Amazing the first thing I wanted to know when on the floor of the road is " is the bike OK"

I need a beer.

thats me done for now

...commiserations...you seem fine & the bike was lucky..Could have been worse...a common mistake for a tt to do impromptu U turns without checking behind...you almost have to expect such a poor standard of observation these days..Best wishes...

One time I came up behind a queue of cars slowed down by a tractor, top speed 15mph. I decided to overtake the whole lot, doing about 30mph (in a 60 limit) when the first car I came to decided to turn left without indicating (I was in France at the time so I overtook on the left), only to hit me as I was already alongside. I flipped over the bonnet and landed on my back (thankful for the big jacket rolled up in the backpack), and the bike landed on the seat... No damage to anyone either, but just a reminder of how you can never be too careful...

Glad you are ok mate, saw lots of bikers when we were out today and it seemed as if most people were aware of them, thank goodness (well it was the Cat and Fiddle!). Hope you get everything resolved ok with the moron.

I know of bikers who seriously hurt themselves and this was the first thing they said when someone came running over to check they were OK.

I did when I came off my bike, I spend 2 weeks in hospital and had 5 ops in that time. I know what my priorities are. :lol

Bad luck bud! Glad you're ok which is the main thing and the bike's fixable too. Hopefully it'll teach Vectra boy a lesson in using his mirrors.....

Good luck sorting it

Hi Matt!!

So sorry to hear about this... glad it's just a little scratch and nothing more. God it makes you realise how careful of crivers you need to be!!!

Hopefully this means when we do our ride-out together in the next month you'll be able to show me the ropes

Take care mate and safe biking!!!

Glad your OK Matt. Could have been a lot worst though. There really are some c*cks on the road nowadays, - seems they don't expect to see a bike out during the winter !
