Hello,

I'm thinking of getting one of these on Suzuki's £1 0% Finance deal.

Are these as fun as they look? Hoping for a bike which I can enjoy at less than 100 mph.

How much HP do they make (I know that's not the point) what tank range do they get? Can you get off-road wheels and use them for green laning or not?

Thanks, Andy

They are iro 39bhp, top end on standard gearing 90-95mph and range 70-80 miles.

Well that's going on my DRZ400s.

I believe it is easier getting the 's' & buying road wheels than the 'sm' & off road. Not sure, but due to disc size you often need to change the caliper mount (& adding a bracket is easier than taking off). That's obviously if the caliper mount is bigger on the 'sm'

As for 'fun under a ton', that's a cert off road and the 'sm' will handle tight twisty stuff on road (with a big smile), but you might feel you need more power on long sweepers (if you're used to a big bike).

Thanks for the reply.

I think the fact that I could get the bike straight away on the 0% finance deal is the main appeal... From what you've said getting an old kwak kdx 200 (Or similar) for offroad work and getting a seperate road bike might be better £ for £.

Still, not sure if I want to waste time saving for a bike when I could be riding one!

If you look in TBM, you'll see S/H 's' models for £1500-£2000

I rode one at the Goodwood FOS activity field a few years ago, it was a real hoot, stick some road tyres on it & I can see it being great fun around town.

I was seduced by supermotos and bought a 640 CCM with on and off road wheels, worst of both worlds, too slow on the road to heavy off road. Ended up selling it and buying a Speed Triple, still got the comfortable riding position, but can do more than 10 miles without getting bored.

I got a Honda FMX 650 in November... it's a hoot on the road. True it's not too much fun at 90 (just makes it) but for everything else it's a smile a minute!!!

Trouble was my dealer had a new ltd edition Fireblade in at the weekend (red and white with gold mag wheels) lick

It's the A5 sized Off road bike mag. Not a bad read either.
