friday night was good.........NOT
Discussion
was quite happily half asleep at bout midnight on friday, boyfriend at work, job interview in the morning lifes looking up.
Then the phone goes - boyfriend "I'm in Kirkham at the coffee station, just come of my moped will you come and get me, oh and by the way your lids f****d". yeah cheers babe just what i want.
Got there bout 10 mins later to find his moped parked up, not too badly damaged just a smashed air filter and a couple of panels, then he comes hobbling over, covered in mud, torn clothes etc, not a pretty sight.
Got him to the hospital to be checked over, not too badly damaged, twisted ankle and a few scrapes and bruises. The worst thing was tho, just as i got into the hospital car park, i got pulled for an insurance check (something the police seem to like to do about once a month with me), then he let me go, and as was leaving he told me to go "check on little brother". I wouldn't mind but my boyfriends bout 6 inches taller than me and older as well!!!! oh well, everyone apart from him saw the funny side of it lol
and just to really end a great weekend (I DON'T THINK) he got fired today for not being able to go into work because he can't walk, and when he went back on friday night to tell them he was going to the hospital they didn't believe him, that he'd come off his bike.
Is there anyway of him fighting for his job back or should he just give up?
sorry for rant, but feel better now

Sorry to hear about your sh!te night. At least he's still in one piece, albeit just about, but it could have been worse. A few knocks nad scrapes on bikes gives them character, so I wouldn't worry asbout it. Replacing the lid is a bit of a sh!t though.....but you can't take any chances eh?
Not sure about the job front. I'm guessing he had a contract of employment?. If so a copy of something from the hospital should put an end to it.
Cheers.

Sorry to hear about your Friday. I must admit, I have known better days than that! At least your boy friend is still in one piece.
On the employment front, I’d be very surprised if they could simply sack him because of an injury. Suggest you look up a local solicitor who’ll give a free first consultation and go and get a good legal view of the situation. If no solicitors available you could also try Citizens Advice Bureau.

Have to agree on the Job front. I he was ill for a couple of weeks, with a Doc's note would they be able to fire him, I doubt it! His current situation is no different to this to me. Get a letter from the Hospital, see if his employers will play ball off the back of that, if not, speak to the Citizen's Advice Bureau.
Steve.
thats what i was thinking, will discuss it with him later on
yeah i am glad he's still in one piece, but keep getting told off because i'm not bothered about his moped - at the end of the day it can be replaced, he can't -
they have said that they want to have a chat with him when he goes in for his stuff, so hopefully they will change their minds.
cheers guys
