Bugger just dont know where i am going, any recomendations for a bike sat nav

The options are really starting to open up. Tom Tom's RIDER looks pretty good and whilst it was about £600 a year ago, it can be had for a bit over a couple of hundred quid.

Tom Tom Rider is looking good there i have been told not to mount onto the forks due to vibration, so might need to make up a fitting kit to mount from the fairing

Luckily enough, someone over on Visordown not only has been given the Garmin Zumo 550 on test, but also has a Mille with a high screen, so I have a personally targetted test under way right now.
The Garmin ones seem to be technically more proficient than the TomTom, acting as a Bluetooth "hub" so the helmet connects to the SatNav, which handles the phone connection. Add in thoughtful things, like lefthanded controls, oil-resistant plastics and anti-theft features and the Garmin starts to look quite clever. The ability to map your rides afterwards on Google Earth is a pleasant addition.

As far as I can see, the only bugbear is the price, currently in the high five hundreds, which is too much. Still, time heals all wounds....

Personally I wouldn't get a rider. Too many issues and poor customer service. Issues like:

Popping out of the cradle [which is crap]
Arcing across the terminals
Poor connections
etc etc

In addition, the price is because they are clearing the stock for an update

Scary as after the easy going, what vicious acceleration, sofa like CBR6. Amazing fun. Weather has been good enough for a couple of attacking runs, and I'm certain it was developed by Mitchell Gant - its a Firefox for the road. In town, I've acquired an awful habit of riding fairly upright, with straighter arms, and every single twitch is reacted to. The first few times, I was wondering if I'd bought the right bike for me, as it felt twitchy, then realised what it was. Damn, this thing rocks.

And no, I thought I'd skip the slow "learner" colours, and go for a nice flat matt black, with a few hints of CF to match

I have a Garmin Quest sitting in the garage, all boxed up and with no-where to go, if you decide you want one of those...

Suspension is superb on them. I have dropped the forks in the yokes for quicker turn-in. Grunt is amazing throughout the rev range - very flat torque curve.

I did like the black scheme although didn't like the matt finish - so many I saw didn't clean up that well.

I got used to the grunt, though. Whilst the R1 doesn't make as much torque at lower rpm its peak torque is similar to the Aprilias, with a much wider rev range - it is nice to sit in one gear from 30 to 120+.

Twins are fab, though. My next bike will probably be an RSV Factory.
