Anybody here had experience of moving from a Kawasaki ZX12R to a ZZR1400?

I've had my ZX12R (Silver, 2000 model, 26k miles, maybe for sale soon) from new and am contemplating this move. However, not sure because I can't get a test ride anywhere (shortage of bikes apparently).

Will it give me at least the same kind of grunt? I generally only do long rides (tours to the mountains) and the ZX12 has been great at that althought the seat could be more comfortable.

From what i've read they are slightly quicker over the quarter mile and slightly more top end speed so the answer to your as much grunt question is probably yes!I've had a zx12r too and i found the seat ok,only problem was with me being tall the rear seat pod poked me in the arse all the time i was out on it.Just buy a gel seat if the zzr too isn't comfy.

I have seen a couple of guys make this move on the 200mph bike site.

The 14 is quicker all round , just looks a bit more of a tourer though .

A showroom stock bike went 198 at Woodbridge at our last meet , although the conditions were gale force following winds.

If you want a road test report, get a copy of BIKE from July 06, they compare the zx12, zzr1400 and the zx10.

To quote from the article "The zzr not only teases the space-time continuum but does it's best to rearrange your internals"
