Interested to hear your opinions on how the supercharger has performed for you.

Most of the guys I know who have tried it, along with the assistance of some excellent and very experienced tuners , have been very unhappy and reverted to a turbo at great cost .

I assume you have had to build the motor to run 300bhp

Thats true, I used it for endurance racing and it was built to do that, we had some early issues with the engine which revolved around the fuelling, we ended up running it on 105 octane fuel and my god was it quick!

Apart from whats mentioned above, the engine performed faultlessly. I was going the turbo route initially but knew some guys who had already done this and they had terrible trouble with heat dispensation and with it catching on fire !!! so went the supercharged route.
Engine was built to run this power (at the wheels) i.e.; carrillo conrods, JE Turbo pistons, 12mm stud conv, Kent Turbo cams, Clutch mods, Dry sump pan & oil pump, C30 Rotrax supercharger, 12pk supercharger pulleys, Crank support bearing, Highflow intercooler, Supercharger oil system, Bespoke exhaust manifold, Blow off valve, All intake link pipes and all sump fittings, Bespoke exhaust system.

If only I wasn't already planning on selling my Caterham Fireblade - that would be a monster engine to slot under the bonnet! Power oversteer? Ha ha ha!
