In real terms that's not bad ... No they're not going to threaten the front runners, but given it's a brand new bike etc etc ..

Reality is that in a 25 lap race they would be lapped, but that's been happening for years to factory bikes.

The Tech Yamaha team ahead of them are on the a new spec Yamaha and they're only 2 secs quicker ...

If Ilmor had the latest tyres like the top teams, and a year behind them, how much closer could they be ...

I had a feeling the Ilmor project would not progress as quickly as the factory teams...A shame Jezza is in another team where his talents will be facing another uphill struggle...It won`t be like the tighter twisty stuff will be able to save the day this year like on the old Proton KR3...

That's just the rider, his team mate Tamada is much quicker, up where he should be.
