Furry rearsets

The pillion rearsets on the zx-6r have furred up to a terrible state.

So I have taken them off and cleaned them up as best I could. Now should I respray them a silver? if so what colour silver.

Or should I put a bit more elbow grease into it and leave them in a polished state. If so how do I keep them looking polished? Surely they will just furr back up again.

clean them with solvol autosol, or another aluminium type cleaner, then wipe them with a rag covered in GT85/WD40. This will provide a protective layer. When you come to sell the bike, just give them a wipe and polish...
