As I said on my reply, a bike could never hope to generate the same BHP as a Veyron with such a huge engine - there's only so much BHP you can possibly get from a bike... To compare a Veyron is just stupid.

Did anyone point out that you could buy the complete run of 1,000 brand new anniversary R1s for less than the Veyron?

I don't care which is better, I didn't even read the thread but what a great video. I could sit and watch that all day. The Veyron sounds sweet too, very F1 car.

I'll see your Veyron and raise you a Busa.

Now available for £3500 up. Watch and weep 'supercar' owners.

Anyway, as we all know when the car came up on the slower moving traffic bike would have nipped through the middle and then nailed it.
Game over.

For the price of a Veyron, I could buy a Desmosedici RR, Ferrari F40, a nice house, a bed, a team of professional Thai hookers and lots and lots of drugs.

Had a read of the thread. Good to seem the same ole p*ssing contest comparing apples and oranges is raging on again, NOT! I honestly don't understand the point of the thread. From a cynical perspective it reads as if those who've never sampled a bike resent the bikers their different experience and have to counter with yes, but I'm faster then you in X circumstances.

I took the cerby up to Blackpool on the weekend and enjoyed that, I took the bike to work this morning and enjoyed that too. I own neither the ultimate car, nor the ultimate bike, but both put a huge grin on my face when a open the throttle and that's all I need. cloud9

Steve.

Just a bit of friendly banter as far as I'm concerned.
In my experience drivers of fast cars and bikes have a mutual respect for each other.

Agreed, Steve! I've said it before, this is why I enjoy this site - mutual respect from bikers and car drivers, and many of us use both and therefore understand how each appeals in a different way.
Of our TVR group's six regular drivers, half of us also own bikes.
If you love speed, then you will love both bikes and cars (whether or not you actually own or drive either, if that makes sense!).

I think there is one thing missing from this topic.ART.If you can ride a bike in such a way that you make no mistakes, then that is ART.I drive cars all day long,Porsches,Ferraris etc,yes they are fantastic, but its not as rewarding as making a bike power wheelie out of a bend, wheel spinning away, and thinking,God I`m Alive!
Make no mistake,a good car driver gets respect, but riding a bike is a different league....

Own a Porsche, have a lot of respect for bikes, hence I'm doing my direct access this month and buying a sports 600.

Have had lot's of good spirited blasts with bikes and it has always been good natured.

Different tools for different jobs in my view and unless people have tried both, they shouldn't really speculate on which is better. In my view they are just very different experiences!

Spot on. Currently driving a 997GT3 and down my local 'bikers road' I'm amazed how easy it is to dust nine out of ten brightly coloured super bike riding ninja turtles I come across - all knees out but nowhere near down and wobbly wobbly. It takes a serious bit of kit and an even more serious rider to live with the GT3 but boy when I come across someone who can really ride rather than just kid themselves down the pub they get my RESPECT. It is very hard to drive this sort of car to it's limits - I don't just mean fast - but much, much harder to ride a bike to it's limits and in my opinion not many can. Oh and when you're behind that bubble at warp speed on the continent have a wee look in your mirror lads - there might, just occasionally, be a car behind wanting past!
