Its getting to the stage when the Z750 needs its 3rd/7.5k service.

I've jut phoned Infinity in Farnborough who carried out the last (4k) ervice for around £100 and they have quoted me £450 for this one, and told me it takes about 6 hours to carry out.

Now even if it does take 6 hours that seems a tad steep, its not a Ducati after all.

So do any of you have suggestions regarding reputable places not to far from Woking where I can have the service carried out at a more reasonable price?

Thank,

Phill

That is steep... but what's involved? Does it need a valve clearance check? In which case 6 hrs is actually about right and they SHOULD ask for the bike in the night before.

Is it in warranty and if not have you considered doing it yourself?

2002 - I got my ZX6 serviced (15k) at Portman M/C's in Guildford. It was around £400 then & I can't remember whether a 15k service was a biggy or not. The brakes were binding badly after a few miles & they were supposed to have sorted them out!
I wasn't that impressed with 'em....so you might want to bear that in mind ;-) however they may be OK now?

I've since spoken to another Garage (Capital Bikes in Horley near Gatwick) who have told me that it is a 3 hour service and could cost £140 - £150 all in

They also tell me that the 12k service is a biggie with valve clearances.

Unfortunately theyre a bit far away, so any more local suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Phill

I've used Portman's in Guildford a number of times for my ZX12R and they've been fine. Sorted out my head bearings which were too tight. It's a small dealer/garage which is what I like about them.

Also used Wheelpower in Raynes Park a few years ago, they also seemed ok.

Aren't they a Suzuki garage? I thought the OP needs to have his Kawasaki serviced doesn't he?

Well, its booked in the Portmans of Guildford.

Not sure how confident I am as I had to specifically request the changed the brake fluid and spark plugs despite them being listed on the service schedule.

Anyway about £190 all in.

A bit better than infinity who were still trying to charge £340 even when they removed the valve clearance charge.
