Focused Events 9th April - Silverstone GP

Just booked up Bank Holiday Monday at Silverstone, are any of you guys going? What about the instructor chap Scobby17? Are you at this one?

Look forward to seeing you all if you are participating.

I am going to try and do a track day per month this year as I am not going away for a Euro trip. My little sister is dying to get her knee down so a suitable amount of tutoring will be needed.

Now, i really fancy that but my new bike, although over three years old, still has that 'new bike perfection' about it and i'm loathe to scratch that away - in short, i'm not sure I could bring myself to risk it on track! I also couldn't obtain fully comp insurance on it and it's a sizeable amount of moolah to throw into the gravel

I may change my mind by then; i've barely ridden it in the dry yet, all wet miles so not really got to grips with it. We'll see. I am tempted though and my friend Mark is pushing me to do another.

BTW Mick Grant, yes the Mike Grant., will be doing the suspension set up on this day. He is great, and has loads of great stories, be sure to say hello when you are there.

Might be tempted - I only normally go with no limits - what are the noise restrictions like at silverstone??

Never had any mentioned - ive ridden there twice, once on a ZX7R with unbaffled race can and once on a TL1000R with two unbaffled race cans that popped flames! At no point was anything said to me about the noise.

All circuits have a 105db noise limit which does not normally trouble any bikes except Rossi and co. Donnington quite often has lower limits 100db which normally means standard cans or baffle. Silverstone normally noisy days ie 105db. If in doubt check with organiser.

Hey hey,

Will be at Silverstone, will be my second visit, and my second track day! Bikes in the shop atm as i pulled away to fast on cold tyres and lost my gearlever! (kicks oneself)! But will be ace to do it again! Will try to intise some of the lads to come to, there always broke though!!

Scobby, have checked with Focused and they suggest that no Suspension Tech will be there on the day on the 9th. Is Mick Grant running separate to the organiser?

VeeTwin, I am sorry that you are right I was looking at my old list and Mick was down for this. At present there is no tech set to be there.
Paul Jinks and Graham Arnold are two of the instructors there who are both very good at suspension. It will not be the full set up and work with you through the day you would get with Mick, but on the other hand it will be free!!
