Question for paint lovers out there.

I've just taken ownership of a red 2002 Ducati 748s with black wing mirrors...I need to re-paint them red, but not sure how to match the colour. DO I just go to a body shop and ask them, or is there a specific paint code for the year etc so I can paint them myself? Need to match the colour spot on.

Thanks,

Virgil.

The Ducati paint is lead based, I had the same with my Yellow 748S. It needs to be code matched to the year and mixed. The best place would be at a Ducati Dealer.

If you are not that fussy then Halfords will do a colour match (matched mine really well) that will be adequate. They can provide touch up nibs, paint pots and spray cans.

Best paint match will be from Ducati but I'm told that Vauxhall 'Magma Red' is a good match for touch ups etc, although I've never tried it.
