looking at the latest group of 600s they all seem to produce about 108 or so, its amazing how far thier power figures have come on in the last few years in my opinion, does anyone think you could extract 125 at the wheel without doing severe tuning,am just curious.

I understand around 120 is quite easily done on the new R6 (and relatively cheaply)

Absolutely....so just thin what a black R6 could do (obviously with someone else on it!)

tbh I don't find it all that amazing: all they're doing is shifting the power higher nad higher up the rev range. Look at the torque output and it's barely changed over the past ten years i.e. 600cc bikes produce about 40 lbft now, did so in 95 too.

If you have a bike that produces 40lbft at 16412.5rpm then you'll have 125bhp.

I think it would just slide further once you went through the wall/hedge, etc.

Yup, it's the old horsepower fixation syndrome again.....

i may well be getting a new 600RR and would like to not keep it standard, a friends race GSXR 600 K7 runs 118 at the wheel and he is only allowed a slip on, i was wondering wha is it possible ot extract from a 600 in this day and age with litre bikes getting ever closer to the 200 BHP mark thier beginning to seem a little overkill.

i fear reliability would be an issue then though, the new 600RR is also super light at 155kgs and i cant imagine the R6 is far behind it at all weight wise, i nearly got a new R6 last year but decided to go for the Fireblade, ive decided now though that if i cant get this discounted 1098 im going to get another 600 as i love them to ride, not that i dislike 1000s i just like the nimbleness and ability to gas out of corners harder that the 600s have without instilling fear at the same time.

135bhp at the back wheel for a British supersport triumph 600 team...insane...
