We're thinking of going to see one or two of the rounds of this years MotoGP live, however we don't paticularly like Donnington (weather too variable and can't see much of the track), so we're thinking of some of the european rounds.

Any recommendations on which circuits are best to go to and how to go about arranging it?

Went to Malaysia a few years back for F1 and did a weekend in a 4 star hotel for about £50 each, then had 10 days on Langkawi. The track's great and I would love to see MotoGP there.

Bargain prices and a great holiday too!

Le Mans is a good ride to a good circuit. Plenty of grandstanding - and it doesn't matter much if you end up in a hotel 30 miles away as most of the roads into the town are good ones. Just remember to full up your tank on Saturday evening. Le Mans were pretty good on the giant TV screens.

Valencia is a cracking one to do a fly-in, stay a few days, and fly out. Lovely city, some great tapas, and easy travel to and from the circuit by train. The track is in a natural amphitheatre - which means you can see about 90% of it from any seat in the house.

Assen is fabtastic if you can get accommodation in Assen itself. De Familiehotel in Paterswolde - up the road towards Groeningen - is a very comfortable alternative if you don't mind the ride to and from Assen (about 30 mins, if memory serves). Assen is a long circuit - so they don't come round as often.

Wherever you go, add a couple of days to the trip.

The Turkish circuit is good, I've been round that and Istanbul is a good night out. But if you are planning to do a few European ones, then I'd pool the cash and go to Laguna Seca, totally different feel to European races but top fun. I kiond of think if you have been to one euro GP they are kind of the same albeit with better weather later in the year!

Thanks for all the replies, we've had a bit of a chat about it and it looks like Valencia will be the main one we're going for. We'd like to do Le Mans but we can't all get the time off

Im taking my dad to the Misano round in September.

Flying Ryanair to Rimini which is around 10 miles from the circuit and staying in either Riccione or Misano itself.

Can't wait!
