OK - I know this has been posted several times but not in 2007, at least I don't think so!
I currently run Pilot Power 2CT's which have been great - the best bit is their profile, the bike tips into corners really well which it never did with the stock BT014's.
So, tempted to try Diablo Corsa III's this time for a change. Are there any new tyres I should consider for 2007? I hope to be on the track quite a bit this year.
Rob.

2CT's seem to keep getting the best reviews as a road based tyre (with good track ability). Dunlop GP racers also get decent reviews.
Suppose the only alternative is to get a tyre biased the other way, ie more track than road.
I'm running Supercorsa Pro SC's. Front being a soft compound & rear being a medium. They are brilliant on track but wouldn't want to have to use them too much on road in any kind of wet conditions (not that this matters to me). There is also rumours that certain people don't see them as road legal as the tread doesn't go right to the edge of the tyre.
Spare set of wheel/tyres is another option, albiet not a cheap one.

Supercorsa Pro's are road leagal, road-track tyre. I've used them for the last 2 years (road & track) and been pleased with their performance, used them in the wet (Road)and have been ok.
Front SC1, Rear SC2.

questions is track bias or road? spare wheels is a option, but if I have a road bike and a spare set of wheels I would get slicks, but then I need a trailer, and then I should really get track body work and where do you stop.........track bike??

Exactly where I am at at the moment - having spent £2K on repairs last year, I should now seriously think about track fairing and a trailor. I'll probably stick another 2CT on the rear and hope I don't bin it... Want tyre warmers this time as well but for that I need a paddock stand and they aren't very transportable on the bike!
MMMMMMMMMMMmmmm, you are at the decesion point many of use have reached over the years you do track days. ASk your self these questions and answer truthfully.
1. Do you REALLY love track days
2. Are you sure you will do 5+ track days a year for the next couple of years
3. Have you access for space to store a second bike
4. Do you go with mates that are local
5. Does one of these mates have a van or trailer
Five yes's ------------- BUY a track bike - No doubt
Four Yes ---------------- Buy and track bike
1&2 - yes - buy great tyres track body work and crash bungs. Once you get used to it you can change the bodywork over in a hour.
Hope this helps.
