hi,
i have some Z seal 530 chain and links. With the links come 4 O rings, link, outer plate and 2 "W" shape springs. any idea of how this chain should be joined? i presume the springs should be riveted in place?
cheers

I assume it's for your Radical. is your chain a "zero stretch chain", zzz series? If it is did you get any instructions with it.
Not really an easy question to answer without more info or pictures, if it just needs to be rivited, you will need a link riviting tool,£35-£90 to buy, a local bike shop or bike mechanic
will be able to help with hiring or buying the tool. Not really a good idea to attempt the job your self, if you don't know what you're doing, you could end up with a hole in your crankcase if the chain snaps.
hi,
yes its for the radical. It is the regina Z seal chain with very high tensile strength

i have the riveting and chain breaker tools - no problem - its just this chain actually comes with 2 springs "w" in shape that it would seem are riveted in place around the rollers and between the end plates.
just wondered if any biker lads have come across this before?
cheers

This may or may not help, as this was a while ago, but from what i can remember.
The "W" shaped spring is for holding the rubber "O" ring in place, to stop it moving and becoming trapped when assembling(overkill).
Once the link is riveted, remove the "W" shaped spring.
