With the onset of global warming and the improving regional climate, do you reckon we should sticky one of these threads?
Or will I just write a generic "how to start biking" article and we can petition for it to get whacked onto the front page?

I probably was just as bad a few months ago, but that might actually be a good plan!

Pretty sure I was too! Not having a go at peeps but we seem to have had a flurry of these posts over the past week or so and I think it would be easier for the regulars and newbies to have one post which covers the most common questions.
Either that or I'm gonna have to make up a "Hiccy generic response" and copy and paste!

The procedure for doing your test is forever changing though as well as ever escalating prices. I did my test a couple of years ago after having 2 hour long lessons and passed with 3 minors. I think that if you have ridden a bike before there isn't much to remember on your test because most of it is about handling and controlling the bike rather than the $hite you have to do on a car test. The test seemed more informal than the car test when i took it too, i think the because the instructor is a biker too they understand more, just a thought!!
remembering the best part of the bike test..... riding at speed cameras on the way home to set them off

I just passed my test yesterday and in total it cost me £501 for the pass. Done my CBT the Friday before last at a cost of £120 then done my theory the following Monday for £21 I think then went on to do a taster on the Thursday and done a three day crash course this Tuesday Wednesday and yesterday in which I got a pass.
So two weeks for a pass and I had never even ridden a bike or a scooter before in my life. Oh and for anyone that was reading my last thread I now have that GSXR 600 and I am loving it to bit. Never had that experience of so much acceleration that your eyes go blurry before, what a goddamn rush.
