I'm looking to liberate some noise from the V-twin on my latest purchase, as it has the stock cans on it at the moment.

Do any PH bikers out there recommend a particular set - I was thinking Microns seem like a good balance of sound vs cost £300 a pair?

Cheers

I have a renegade system on mine. Sounds fantastic. If its noise (rumbling thunder as opposed to more "refined" sound) you want, look now further.

I've got a set of the Blue Flame Evo's, the stainless twin exit ones with removable baffles. You have the choice of baffles in for a nice burble, two baffles out for fairly loud and all out for armaggeddon!

Mine has the top baffles in, mostly.

Any of them sound good on the old SV thou.

Had a pair of Scorpions on mine for about £300, and they sounded awesome. I ended up putting the baffles back in mind, it was getting a bit embarrassing

Don't bother with ART carbon. My TL blew them apart within 200 miles.

What what I can gather, pretty much any after market with removable baffles will do the job at releasing the rumble, so it's purely down cosmetics and price. I like carbon fibre but apparentely should be wary??

Also, do you guys know if the pipes affect insurance - I am doing this purely to release the rumble, not for performance, but I am guessing insurers will have a different take...

Any insurance companies i've spoken to weren't fussed when I told them I had non standard road legal exhausts, no extra premium.
Apparently the carbon cans may crack (or completely fail) due to the pulsing of the V twin as well as normal degredation. I've seen pics of a couple that have blown up at speed.
