Far out! I grew up with bikes like that. My mates had KH250's, RD400's, Kettles and Z9's. I went from a FS1E through to RD350 torques, Honda 400-4, Honda 550-4, BSA Bantam, CZ350, BSA200 Tiger Cub, Z1000, GPZ1100 and a GPZ1000RX. Now got a ZRX1100 and a Harley 1548 Softail Delux.
You are right, the bikes of times gone by sounded tremendous. I used to like the sound of Two stroke twins with Microns. If only we could roll back the clock huh. Mind you, they did handle like dogs. I fitted a big bore kit to my old GPZ1100, went like stink but when you got to the bends it was like riding a jelly go round.
