afternoon all!

I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a steering damper for an R6? I've just bought a nice shiny 2000 plate one and owing to the fact i lost my last one to a tank slapper, I'm looking at fitting it with a damper as the first thing i do when i get it home.

There seems to be a few makes out there, just wanted any guidance on brands/fitting etc?

Cheers dudes/dudettes!

i use a sprint one on my blade i cant fault it,i have it set about halfway

i fitted it after the bike tried to slap me about a bit, going lock to lock after landing a 3rd gear wheelie on the center line of the road ,is not fun i can tell you...thank fully it sorted itself out after what seemed like and eternity i just kept the gass on as much as i could and rode through it

If it is a 2001 R6, do you want to buy an Ohlins with Harris fitting kit??

Edited to say 'Doh! Read the OP fully!' Yes it will fit.

I'll second the Ohlins - top quality engineering, and fully serviceable if it should (doubtful) go wrong.

I've just bought an Ohlins one on ebay for my 2003 R1 - i'll let you know what it's like once the garage finish fixing the bike (they tried to fit an alarm, blew the ECU, oops!).

I went on the premise that they all do roughly the same job, and I rather like my bike flighty so don't want it to work too well - so I just went for whatever came up within budget!

Smiler.

You don't normally say budget and Ohlins in the same sentence

Well no, but it seems to me that on Ebay, they're mainly around the same price - mine was £160 delivered, including the fitting kit.
