Yamaha Raptor Quad
Discussion
Yesterday i spent the afternoon out on a 660 raptor and had a hoot of a time, very fast and great fun to drive, got upto 80mph fairly easy and felt pretty safe on it (even though some would suggest otherwise), now im considoring buying one of these to possibly go back and fore to work (only 5 miles) and the odd blast around at weekends.
i'm not 100% convinced id be comfortable on a motorbike, but a Quad would be a step towards learning it and good fun at the same time, oh and its cheaper than driving my TVR to work (which doesnt even get warm by the time i'm there)
any thoughts or ownership experience here i could learn from?
thanks

I had a raptor for a few years, absolutely brilliant fun all the time all weathers. I would recommend one for sure. If on the road please please hang way back from cars, these things are so light that you just lock up on road and can never shrug the speed. Off road do what you like, they can do so much and make you feel like a driving god(nicked that form the hamster). I found this out when i went to my first race thinking i was the nuts and the flag dropped and we all went well, fine first corner, i slow down the rest of the paack stay the same speed. fook me they were nuts. i stayed with pleasure riding then. There were 3 of us who had them and all went out together mainly. one of use had a set of road wheels too. Its been 18 months without now and we are all getting ideas about re investing for this winter.
Good luck, the 700 raptor has injection so is a little smoother in town.
