...I hate using `versus`..but you get the picture....a great lap with not much slack in the wire from both.....a very hairy place to ride fast ...and some great little moments where you catch the shadow of the rider on the ground...

Wow, good video.

He managed to stay in touch the entire lap. Some quick footage there.

Seriously impressed.
Ragging a very frisky zx-10 round the 'Ring' should not be under estimated.

Wow that was super well ridden!!!!! Getting the front end up for fun in a few places too just to rub it into £250000 merc mans face

Anyone see another guy on a bike nearly cut him up about half way round??

How come the DTM wasn't much faster than the Bike round the corners??? Who was riding the ZX10? Some sort of god - or was my mum driving the DTM?

the DTM is hardly a slow car but the ZX10 pulled it straight in on the final straight i have to admit i was surprised by that, good driving and great ridng none the less

He'd already backed off as most people do to cool things off before the carpark. The car was well within it's limits (as you'd expect considering it's value) and I suspect the bike was too. Nice smooth driving and riding from both.

Both car and bike were being superbly piloted. Having been to the ring last year on my ZX6R makes me realise that these guys really knew their way around.

I was a little shocked that the DTM didn't pull out more of a lead in the corners and particularly on the brakes, but guess he was well within his limits just enjoying himself. I really wish I could ride my bike like that

really nice video

watch that video again closely .. I wouldnt say the car is on the ragged edge but he is hardly holding back ...there are some nice shots of the car squirming as he is putting the power down hard...

the bike on the other hand was clearly holding back.. he was rarely on full throttle .. he was obviously on follow mode...

i know there is no real debate going on here.. but it seems everyone expects that car to be able to pull away .. when the situation is .. zx10 ridden at 100% would destroy a dtm driven at 100%

:P

Are you sure? Personal experience would suggest otherwise. Doing a search for bike times doesn't return much other than this very famous one http://videos.streetfire.net/hottestv It was on an RC30 in '93 at 7:49. I guess it should be possible to beat that but no one's claiming to have done so. However, a lot of cars have gone quicker. Either way you have to be personally brave on a bike and financially in a car

Think that was a standard road rc30 with about 120bhp... Zx10r 165bhp at the wheel with modern tyres.i think a road specialist like John McGuiness could get near to 7 mins on a zx10

Sounds like a challange! Any TT specialists want to have a go? You could be right based on Foggy's TT speed on a race RC30 of 118 mph - all things equal that'd equate to around 7 mins on the 'ring. But until someone (other than me!) tries we'll all just be guessing. It's strange that the German car mags often test there but don't bother with the bikes!?

Can't see anyone really trying on a bike.. it's just too dangerous.
The TT rewards the winners with a lot of money, there's no bike racing at the 'ring anymore so no incentive to go quick.
DJ used to ride a road bike at the ring on tourist days though... I wonder what BTG he was doing?
