Radiator for a 2003 ZX6R - Hertfordshire
Discussion
Do any of you chaps know where I might be able to get a rad for my 03 ZX6R (preferably 2nd hand) at a decent price? Any parts specialists you would recommend?
I have damaged the neck of the rad and can't get the cap off. The ali seems to be very soft and I am worried that if I force it I will damage it and won't be able to get a proper seal again. I think a replacement is definatley the best option.
Cheers,
ALex

You could try www.gissit.com/ - works like the car parts finders. Submit your bits you need and the breakers (hopefully) get back to you.
Unfortunatley it is where the cap meets the neck. Basically the cap got smashed around when I droped the bike and has distorted the metal where it connects to the neck and as a result I can't actually get the cap off.
I have been quoted £350 + VAT for a new rad, or £160 for a 2nd hand one from a scrappie. If I can get it closer to £100 from a scrappie then I will go down that route, otherwise I will take a look at getting it to a local fabrication shop.
Cheers,
Alex
