know what you mean.. any good ideas for this type of bike tho'?
want something with an upright seating position for touring.. trouble is i'm not tall 5'10, and need a fairly low seat.. any idea gratefully received (other than 'wear heels!')

Just had a look at the link, looks OK, has the look of the Multistrada, which is a good thing. Seems to be reasonably priced too.

thought about the multistradas looks like the 1000ds is superb - odd looks - just worried about running costs and dodgy electrics on a wet morning - hence the idea of going jap, but as dave said the versys just seems a bit too 'neat' or something..

The latest (May) edition of Bike mag does a full test of the Versys: 'The best bike Kawasaki make isn't a sportsbike or a big cc muscle bike or even a ballistic tourer. It's a . . . Versys. And it's a revelation'.
Mind you, they voted the current R6 as bike of the year which most other testers criticise for being compromised on the road in spite of its awesome track ability.
