Well I woke up this morning in London only to find that some mug had run off with my bike!! Well no suprise in London, but straight onto the police at 9am, by 11am they had got back to me informing me that they have found it! But thew police station where it is is not open so I cant even go there to get it, or examine for damage! I expecet there is as one would have had to sna[ the sterring lock and hotwire to ride it..

Will let you know how this one pan's out.... some people huh!

I know how you feel, I was in a similar situation a few years back, when my car was stolen and the police informed me that it had been crashed and towed to a scrap yard in the early hours of the morning...

Hope it's not too bad!

Well done for getting it back.
Mine didn't make it back (GSXR600).. in fact quite happy it didn't to be honest. The bike attracted way too much attention from the thieving gits, had a failed theft attempt on the bike 6 months before it finally went for good. Though of course I'm being made to pay quite literally for not getting it back due to the loading of my insurance premiums.

Well bike is back, the barell where you put the key is missing, I now have to use a screwdriver to start it. Also the front suspension is shot to bits, seems some1 had some fun at my epense!

Kind of wish it never showed up, at least i could claim of the insurance then. But no no I got a ragged bike that I will have to pay fox fixing. Unless there is a way of making the thief pay? That is assuming the police charge someone... not likely....

You should get costs of some sort - ask the BIB for advice.

Surely you can claim on your insurance to have it fixed. I know that you will get your premiums increased later, but it will still be cheaper for you to have them pay for it now if the damage is as bad as you suggest.

If the Police do charge someone then you can claim from them - might be hard to do, and of course it means that you will have to come face to face with some underworld scum and identify yourself to them - perhaps not the brightest thing to do I reckon....

On the subject of nicked bikes - this guy is some what miffed at getting a few scooters lifted - and he put this rant on the free-ad gumtree site
a bit extreme but understandable I guess
