My old Sidi vertebraes are about 7 years old now and starting to fall apart. They've been superb. The toe sliders & soles are worn out and the velcros knackered now so it's time to replace them sadly.

So, whats the best boot around at the mo for road & track use. The new Sidi look a bit liek ski boots IMO so I'm in two minds about them...

If you could put up pics (red/black pref) as I'm a lazy sod, I'd be grateful

I replaced my sidi verts which were of a similar vintage with some sidi vertigos. Just as good, same feel etc.

Got some altbergs for the winter though.

Only the Vertigo Corsa looks like a ski boot, the normal Vertigo makes some attempt to look normal and they have a really good feel.

My old Sidis are looking a bit sorry so I need to replace them. Whatever I get, they'll be goretex as my sidis (summer boot) leak like a sieve!

I've been looking at the Sidi Vertigo goretex and the Alpinestars SMX-3

I bought some Vertigo Corsa last year, they may look a bit ski-bootish but they are a very comfortable fit and, (although I've not tested them), look like they would protect well in a crash.

Normally a fan of black but pure black was not available so I got this colour scheme, (red bike), which is 'louder' than I would have preferred but overall I would rate them highly;

Take a look at the Daytona boots stocked at infinity, incredibley strong, built like ski boots, 399 from Infinity but can be had from Europe for 250 ish, worth every penny.

That's what I ended up going for. From Infinity not Europe though unfortunately.

Wife bought me some of these for Christmas. Have only worn them once as I'm still using the Alpinestars. Seem comfy enough, etc though.

Don't think you really get to know how good any boots are until you need them (and haven't fortunately found out yet).
