Oil/ Filter Change

Hi

Can anyone recommend a good Engine oil for a CBR600rr.

Also manual says I need to use a torque wrench to tighten the oil filter, is this necessary?

I used Castrol GPS in mine - Recommended by my dealer and I wasn't too fussy as it was only for a quick change prior to a trackday (Previous oil was nearly a year old) and was serviced agin 6 weeks later.

Didn'tbother with a torque wrench - Mainly cos I didn't have the right sized cup wrench at the time. Should be fine tightened up by hand. I now have a cup wrench for next time - fiver off ebay.

can I just confirm something, the manual says "remove the left front cowl" just so I know I’m not going bonkers should it not be the right front cowl?

Depends how the manual is looking at the bike - Looking from the front it'd be the left. To be honest I whipped both off as it only takes a couple of minutes.
