Why on earth can't you ride in the rain? If you had set out while the sun was shining it isn't as if you would have had a mate with a van following you everywhere in case the weather deteriorated.
a) because rain is wet!!!
b) i live 15 mins from the best roads in my area so if it does rain im always back before getting too wet
now let me be in my sad sorry pist off strop!!

Spelling and grammar police will be along any minute!!
Personally I believe wet weather riding is a futile exercise if you also own a car. I mean, you get all dressed up and throw on water proofs to tip-toe around greasy British roads that still have just as many bumps on two postage stamps of rubber between you and A&E. Then, if you have a high survival rate and make it back to Parc Ferme, you have to spend the first available dry day cleaning all the crap of your P&J. Not my idea of fun!!
Now, wet track days, they are something else; sheer brilliance. Motor craft lessons do not come any more focused. Throttle control, weight distribution, braking force, grip, body position, weight transfer are all magnified by x100.
So save the wet riding for UK trackdays and if it is wet outside on a Sunday, stay in and watch the Superbikes or MotoGP. Use the time to get your P&J tip-top prior to the next sortie.
Exercises include:
Cleaning
Check Brake Pad Wear
Tyre Condition
Tyre Pressures
Chain Tension
Chain Lube
Electrics (WD40 connectors)
Oil Level
Lube Points
Adjust your controls to suit you (brake/clutch position and lever span, Gear Lever)
Also wet riding means that you have to use the rear brake, which in my opinion is a completely worthless exercise and is only there to annoy the rider with its extra weight. The only person permitted to use a rear brake by law is Troy Bayliss (DFT-2006)
