I'm after a really good battery for my TL1000r to kick the pig over with a bit more urgency in the mornings.Been told Hawker Odyssey batteries are the way to go.I just want to know if other Suzukis share the same battery as the TL1000,so i can maybe cross reference one from the companies application chart for bikes.Anyone help?

When I replaced the battery on mine, I was told that the SV650 battery was the same.

In fact, I still have the battery sat here I think - I couldn't get it to hold its charge, but that may well have been the charger - the battery was apparently brand new. You're welcome to try it if you're local enough to collect it

The batteries tend to come from a few common ones. Lots of bikes share them.

What is the code on the battery? Usually something like YTX12BS or similar.

I did look at those Odyssey batteries a while back but at the time they didn't do one for my Aprilia. I ended up buying a cheapo off ebay for about £25 delivered.

Standard battery for TL1000r is YT12A-BS.I don't want to go for another bog standard one if this one's anything to go buy,i can only push this bike up the 6:1 gradient hill i stay on so many times to bump it lol.

The Hawker Odyssy batteries are definitely very good - provide a high current for starting and hold their charge well when left standing (although an alarm/immobiliser will still flatten one). When I had my Ultima I got a replacement from www.priracing.com who were very competitive on price. Maybe they'll know which one you need?

It depends what mood the bikes in,sometimes it just locks up,other times it bursts into life as soon as my arse hits the seat and wheelies down the road out of control!I've just ordered an Odyssey pc310 battery.Done this on the strength of cross referencing it with a Suzuki GSXR 750 and the SV650.Got a good price too for it,lots of places charged £88 without delivery, got it from Knights Batteries for £58 delivered which wasn't bad.Knowing my luck i'll still be bumping it but with a nice shiney new battery now.
