Hi all. I was just reading today, Wednesdays Motor Cycle News rag and it had front page spread stating that the police are trying to use the ASBO laws against bikers. It said that bikers that meet up or "nuisance" bikers could in the future have their bike taken off them and have an ASBO order placed against them.
What is this kin nanny state comming to? It is okay to fly jets over peoples houses on a regular basis, have trucks going through villages wrecking the roads and kerbs and have all kinds of other transport doing what they need or want to do but what is so bad about us bikers?
I agree that there are a few stupid individuals that paint a bad picture for the rest of us but you get that with any kind of transport type.
Leave us bikers alone!!!
Anyone else feel as though we are being cornered?

Interseting stuff! Never heard of section 59 but reading into the article in MSN they do mention it. Don't know about section 59 as never been a bad boy! Have they used the ASBO angle as a headline grabber?
Either way it is a worry and one to keep an eye on.

Well I have to say as a biker I don't have a problem with it, don't cause trouble and trouble won't come your way!

There were a bunch of bikers, sorry scooter riders on L plates hanging around with a group of teenagers outside my house recently, which was fine until they started pulling wheelies, riding on the pavement, hooting their horns and revving their engines for no good reason, when the police got involved they (I believe) dealt with it by applying for a dispersal order banning them from being their at certain times and threatening the bikers with traffice offences. Needless to say they haven't caused any trouble since.
